From the Mountain to your HomeStone quarries can been found all around the world, and are usually located in very remote regions. The following images have been organized to show the viewer a brief over view of where and how stones are quarried. Aerial View of a Quarry
From this aerial view of a quarry, you can see how the mountain is cut into in stages. It is also possible to see some "blocks" of stone being prepared to be removed. Cutting into the MountainWorks begin the process of cutting blocks out of the mountain.
Blocks of StoneHere a block has finally been removed, and is ready to be moved to the next stage of the process: cutting into slabs.
Water is applied to a block to simulate what a finished surface might look like.
Blocks cut into SlabsThe blocks of stone are then moved to the slab cutting facility. Notice the multiple blades on the saw, which cut the block into uniform slabs.
Shipping StoneOnce the slabs have been safely bundled together in a shipping container, they are then placed aboard a ship and sent all around the world.
